Amman, January 20 - The program “Eye on Jerusalem,” broadcast on Jordanian television yesterday, Monday, highlighted the commemoration of the Isra and Mi'raj at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the significance of this occasion for Muslims, and their duty to preserve and defend Al-Aqsa. Islamic Studies" to the Day of Judgment, and the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan, Professor Abdul Rahman Al-Kilani, said that the issue of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque is one of the central issues in the lives of Muslims. He added that the Isra and Mi'raj incident carries a great deal of significance. In terms of timing, it came at a difficult time for the Islamic call, when the Prophet, peace be upon him, was suffering great sorrow. It also confirms God's support for His servants who are patient in the face of adversity. He explained that there is great significance in “the Prophet's leadership of the prophets” on this occasion, since imamate means leadership, which means that the prophets handed over the leadership of humanity to our Prophet Muhammad, and that the guardianship of Jerusalem was transferred to the Prophet's nation, including the duty to preserve it and keep it an Islamic city that embraces all Muslims in various parts of the world. He emphasized that the imamate also confirms that the prophets share the same creed. Al-Kilani noted that God Almighty emphasized the status and sanctity of this land and the duty of Muslims to protect it, referring to His saying: “Exalted is He who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed.” He added that this blessing includes Jerusalem, Palestine, Jordan, and the Levant, as stated in the Holy Quran: “We have blessed the area around it.” He pointed out that the blessing that God has bestowed upon Jordan is evident in making it at the forefront of Islamic countries defending Jerusalem and Palestine, on all occasions and on all international platforms, through the Hashemite custodianship and the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah in defending Jerusalem, the holy sites, and the Palestinian cause, including the rights of the Palestinians.
