The Faculty of Sharia is an edifice of knowledge and advocacy to Allah Almighty in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, carrying out its advocacy and scientific mission in preparing preachers capable of presenting the rational Islamic discourse that expresses the tolerance and mercy of Islam to the worlds.
It carries out its national mission in providing Jordan with distinguished scientific competencies that realize their religious duty in building the human being and developing the homelands.
It carries out its humanitarian mission in spreading the meanings of goodness, righteousness, justice and cooperation among people on the basis of universal human values.
Throughout its extended journey, the Faculty of Sharia has been able to graduate generations of Sharia scholars and preachers to Allah Almighty who have taken their effective positions in educational, advocacy, judicial, legislative and military institutions, and have been able to be arms of construction and development for our dear Jordan, defending its Islamic identity and culture, preserving its intellectual and moral security, building its renaissance and prosperity and defending its strength and stability.
The College of Sharia has graduated hundreds of students from the Arab world, the Islamic world and humanity, who have become beacons of guidance and light, and messengers of love and goodness in their countries and homelands.
While the College of Sharia is proud of its scientific mission and its Islamic and humanitarian impact, it is proud of its distinguished scientific cadre of faculty members, who believe in the necessity of formulating a balanced personality in the student of Sharia knowledge that combines belonging to the origin and connection to the era, and in the importance of building a conscious scientific mentality capable of dealing with the challenges and requirements of the era, and they believe in the importance of producing scholars capable of thinking, analysis and criticism, and in graduating qualified preachers to confront dark and excommunicationist thought, and in refuting the doubts of advocates of violence and extremism.
For this reason, solid scientific programs and well-thought-out study plans have been developed that emphasize that the texts of revelation go hand in hand with the requirements and imperatives of reason, that correct transmission does not conflict with clear reason, that establishing human interests is the central value and overall purpose of Islamic law, and that preserving, building and developing homelands is worship and obedience through which one draws closer to God Almighty.
It is not strange that the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan has this scientific, social and humanitarian presence while it enjoys the patronage of the Hashemite leadership, may God protect and preserve it. We look forward to the faculty having more strength, presence and effectiveness in the future under the patronage of the sponsor of science and scholars, the dean of the House of the Prophet, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, may God glorify, protect and preserve him.
