The Dean of the Faculty of Sharia participated in the Third Scientific Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation within the Sharia and Jurisprudence Axis

The Dean of the School of Sharia, Prof. Abdul Rahman Al-Kilani, participated in the third scientific day on organ donation and transplantation, where his participation came within the legal and jurisprudential axis related to the provisions of organ donation and its controls in Islamic jurisprudence.

During his participation, Prof. Al-Kilani addressed the Sharia principles adopted by Islamic jurisprudence in permitting organ donation, emphasizing that contemporary jurisprudential ijtihad has determined its permissibility under precise conditions and regulations that take into account the preservation of human life and dignity, and balancing the interests of the donor and the recipient, based on the decisions of the jurisprudential councils and the Jordanian Fatwa Council.

He pointed out that Islamic law has made saving lives one of its primary objectives, and that organ donation falls under the category of charity and human solidarity when the legal regulations are met, the most important of which are: the consent of the donor, the absence of harm to the donor, and the prevention of any form of organ trafficking, with the necessity that this be done under the supervision of reliable and qualified medical authorities.

The Dean of the School of Sharia emphasized the importance of integration between Sharia sciences and medical sciences in addressing contemporary issues, thereby contributing to raising community awareness and establishing a correct understanding of the Sharia rulings related to medical and humanitarian issues.
