n a pioneering step that reflects the openness of Sharia sciences to modern technologies, the Department of Islamic Banking at the Faculty of Sharia organized an advanced workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence in Learning” for the faculty’s students, as part of its ongoing career preparation program. The workshop was delivered by experts specializing in visual and creative artificial intelligence from Takwīn Center for AI Services, and included hands-on training on three advanced AI tools: NotebookLM, Napkin, and Nano Banana.
This initiative comes within the framework of the faculty’s efforts to empower its students with digital-age tools. The training was supervised by Engineer Jamal Darras, a certified trainer in visual artificial intelligence and a specialist in design and creative technologies, and Engineer Mahmoud Abu Zaid, an expert in integrating artificial intelligence into applied arts, both from Takwīn Center for AI Services.
The workshop was distinguished by its practical, hands-on approach, during which participants received training on:
NotebookLM: as an advanced tool for organizing academic research and creating presentations
Napkin: as a creative platform for designing visual and educational content
Nano Banana: as a smart tool for simplifying complex concepts and generating content
The presenters focused on the practical applications of these tools in the field of self-directed learning, such as using artificial intelligence to design interactive educational materials and to develop innovative presentation methods.
Participating students expressed their admiration for the advanced level of the workshop, emphasizing that these tools “change the concept of education and scientific research” and open new horizons in learning and teaching through modern, contemporary approaches.
