Seminar on “The Jurisprudence of Dialogue and Rejection of Violence” emphasizes the importance of accepting others and promoting values of understanding at the University of Jordan


The Deanship of Student Affairs at the University of Jordan organized a seminar entitled “The Jurisprudence of Dialogue and Rejection of Violence - A Legitimate Vision for Regulating University Behavior,” under the patronage of Prof. Safwan Al-Shayab, Dean of Student Affairs, and in the presence of the vice deans, a number of department heads, staff, and university students.
Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Kilani, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan, and Dr. Hassan Abu Arqoub from the Jordanian Fatwa Department participated in the seminar, which was moderated by Dr. Muhammad Ayoub, Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Activities.

During the seminar, Dr. Abu Arqoub emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue and acceptance of others as two of the most important Islamic and human values that contribute to building a cohesive university community characterized by respect and understanding.

For his part, Dr. Al-Kilani spoke about the need to reject all forms of intolerance and to call for unity around love for Jordan and the strengthening of national belonging, stressing that conscious and responsible dialogue is the best way to resolve differences and unite efforts to serve the homeland.
In his speech, Prof. Safwan Al-Shayab emphasized that these events are part of the efforts of the Deanship of Student Affairs to spread a culture of dialogue and tolerance among students and to promote awareness of the importance of positive behavior on campus. He noted that the Deanship continues to organize such meetings, which instill noble values and support a safe and cohesive university environment.

Dr. Al-Shayab added that Jordan is strong and will remain strong thanks to the efforts of its people, students, and wise Hashemite leadership, calling on students to be role models of responsible belonging and active citizenship.
In conclusion, Dr. Al-Shayab affirmed that the Deanship of Student Affairs will continue to organize more meaningful activities and dialogues that contribute to building student awareness and promoting the values of moderation and belonging to the homeland and the university.​
