On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, a scientific symposium was held under the title: "Academic Integrity and the Use of Technological Referencing and Citation Tools",
as part of an initiative launched by the Department of Fiqh and its Fundamentals at the College of Sharia.
The symposium included several key topics. The first was titled “Scientific Research and Its Relationship with Artificial Intelligence,” presented by the Head of the Department of Fiqh and its Fundamentals, Dr. Raed Abu Mu’nis.
Dr. Mohammad Younis then spoke about intellectual property rights and their relation to publication requirements,
while Dr. Israa Al-Momani gave a lecture on academic integrity in research, focusing on the religious and ethical foundations of the subject.
The symposium concluded with Dr. Muneer Al-Shater presenting a session on the practical use of the Mendeley program for managing references and documentation.
The session also featured a hands-on workshop conducted by graduate students and participants interested in the topic.
During the symposium, the launch of the Waqf Library Initiative—affiliated with the College of Sharia—was announced. This library will contain reference books and course materials endowed for the benefit of students.
The initiative aims to support the Sustainable Development Goals by promoting knowledge sharing, encouraging the reuse of endowed resources to reduce environmental impact, and enhancing social solidarity through the concept of endowment.
