Learning outcomes:
After completing the requirements for the PhD degree in Islamic Theology, the student is expected to be able to:
- Have a deep faith in God and His Messenger and show a clear commitment to the teachings of Islam so that this is reflected in his personality, behavior, and dealings.
- To distinguish the issues of the principles of Islamic Theology in a well-defined manner, and to express his/her view on matters of theology and compare and contrast views on theological issues, based on the reliable evidences.
- To compare the different beliefs affiliated with Islamic sects and schools of thought, understand their origins and principles, and to analyze the theological statements and their implications.
- To demonstrate honesty and respect for the other and follow the best method in the objective scientific approach to understanding the other side, whether within or outside the framework of the Islamic nation.
- To create a proper Dialogue with followers of other religions and dissenting groups to reach better understanding and coexistence in accordance with the principles of the religion and in a manner that avoids harming or offending others.
- To develop the skill of communication and convincing with regard to theological issues, especially contemporary ones, and respond to the doubts raised against the principles of Islam.
- Communicate effectively and competently with others, especially those who disagree with him, and work well within a team based on the general Islamic principles that call for understanding and cooperation for good.
- To conduct original research in investigating issues related to theological sciences, in preparing his thesis, and in publishing solid research that includes scientific addition in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- To contribute to the planning, preparation and revision of curricula in Islamic education subjects using different models of design in light of the theoretical frameworks of the curricula and the objectives of the stage education.
