Learning outcomes:
After completing the requirements for the PhD degree in Tafsir, the student is expected to be able to:
- Have a deep faith in God and His Messenger and show a clear commitment to the teachings of Islam so that this is reflected in his personality, behavior, and dealings.
- To demonstrate a deep understanding of what is meant by the science of tafsir, its sources, the most important classical and contemporary works in it, the approaches of their authors, and the methods of tafsir in its various branches.
- To express his/her opinion objectively and in depth on the issues of Qur'anic sciences according to the principles and principles related to this science, and is good at discussing, presenting, and explaining them in an attractive manner, explaining the diversity in the issues of Qur'anic readings and analyzing their impact on interpretation and rulings.
- To deepen his/her knowledge of the language of the Qur'an and the secrets of its eloquence and rhetoric, and to show the wonderful visual forms of the Holy Qur'an.
- To interpret the holy verses according to a correct principle compatible with the principles of interpretation, and based on his study of the principles, rules, schools and methods of interpretation, and draws lessons and guidance from them.
- To Analyze and discuss the classical and contemporary contributions in Qur'anic sciences and tafsir, and expresses his opinion on them in a way that shows the truth and exposes the falsities and claims of those who hold deviant interpretations of the Qur'an.
- Communicate effectively and competently with others, especially those who disagree with him, and work well within a team based on the general Islamic principles that call for understanding and cooperation for good.
- To conduct original research in investigating issues related to Tafsir and Qur'anic sciences, in preparing his thesis, and in publishing solid research that includes scientific addition in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- To contribute to the planning, preparation and revision of curricula in Islamic education subjects using different models of design in light of the theoretical frameworks of the curricula and the objectives of the stage education.
- To be distinguished by an Islamic character based on a proper understanding of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, and to carry out his/her responsibilities as required by the nature of his work, balance the issues involved, and play his role in serving the country and developing the community.
