As part of the University of Jordan's efforts to promote a culture of quality and excellence in academic and administrative performance, Dr. Mounir Maher Al-Shater, Assistant Dean for Classifications, International Accreditation and Alumni Affairs, a faculty member in the Department of Islamic Banking, participated in the specialized training course organized by the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission entitled “Certified Quality Assessor for Jordanian Higher Education Institutions”, which was held over two days on Saturday and Sunday, 19-20 April 2025, with 20 hours of intensive training.
The course aimed to prepare and qualify participants to be accredited quality assessors at the institutional and programmatic levels, and enable them to work efficiently in quality departments in higher education institutions. The course also sought to promote the culture of quality and root it, contributing to raising the level of excellence and competitiveness at the local and international levels, and increasing the number of experts accredited by the Commission and national universities.
The training program addressed various topics related to the importance of quality assurance in achieving institutional excellence, supporting community confidence in the mission and objectives of universities, the importance of empowering quality offices within universities, expanding their powers and linking them directly with the Commission, in addition to the need to develop effective electronic systems to follow up performance and ensure continuous improvement.
This participation comes within the framework of the university's commitment to support the development of its academic and administrative cadres, and its keenness to adopt the best practices in quality assurance and achieving academic excellence in order to enhance its position in the educational arena locally, regionally and internationally.
