University of Sharjah hosts a ceremony to honor the winners of the Excellence in Islamic Studies Award

Under the sponsorship and attendance of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Humaid Majul Al-Nuaimi, President of the University of Sharjah, the School of Sharia and Islamic Studies at the University held a ceremony to honor the winners of the Excellence in Islamic Studies Award for its first session in 2023-2024, which came under the title: "Islamic Banking Jurisprudence", an international award awarded every year in a specific legal field to a distinguished researcher for his total published research in its methodology. The ceremony was attended by a number of UQU Vice Presidents, deans of colleges, and directors of centers and departments. In a speech delivered on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Humaid Majul Al-Nuaimi welcomed the attendees and pointed out the university's position and its effective role in the fields of scientific and academic research and its global progress in citations and research citations. He explained that the award proved its excellence by choosing its theme, which he said comes to encourage researchers to innovate in Islamic studies, to deepen academic research in living legal issues with a real impact in sustainable development and to consolidate the role of the university in improving the research product and serving community issues. The university president then announced the winner of the award, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Shahda Abu Sarhan, Professor of Islamic Banking at the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan, for his total edited research on the theme of the award.
