As part of the University of Jordan’s efforts to promote a culture of quality and excellence in academic and administrative performance, the Assistant Dean of the College for International Classifications, Accreditation and Graduates Affairs, Dr. Munir Maher Al-Shater, a faculty member in the Department of Islamic Banking, participated in the specialized training course organized by the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission entitled “A Certified Quality Assessor for Jordanian Higher Education Institutions”, which was held over two days, Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20, 2025, with 20 intensive training hours.
The course aimed to prepare and qualify participants to become certified quality assessors at both the institutional and program levels, enabling them to work effectively in quality departments within higher education institutions. It also sought to promote and cultivate a culture of quality, contributing to increased excellence and competitiveness both locally and internationally, and to increase the number of certified experts within the Authority and national universities.
The training program addressed several topics related to the importance of quality assurance in achieving institutional excellence, supporting community confidence in the mission and goals of universities, as well as the importance of empowering quality offices within universities, expanding their powers and linking them directly with the authority, in addition to the need to develop effective electronic systems to monitor performance and ensure continuous improvement.
This participation comes within the framework of the university’s commitment to supporting the development of its academic and administrative staff, and its keenness to adopt best practices in quality assurance and achieving academic excellence, which enhances its position in the educational arena locally, regionally and internationally.
