Student Mohammed Ghanem from the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan wins the title of "Master" in the Holy Quran and takes first place in the competition among Jordanian universities.

Fadia Al-Otaibi – Student Mohammed Raed Ghanem, a second-year student in the Department of Jurisprudence and its Foundations at the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan, won first place in the "Master" competition for the Holy Quran among Jordanian universities. He achieved this after a strong competition with his fellow student from the University of Jordan, Tamim Al-Thawabi from the Faculty of Arts, in the final stage, confirming his excellence in memorizing, reciting, and understanding the meanings of the Holy Quran.

Ghanem's victory came in the fifth edition of the competition organized by the Al-Maher Quranic Society. Part of the "Jordanian Universities Challenge," the competition targeted students from both public and private Jordanian universities, aiming to develop promising Quran memorization and comprehension skills, empower young people to master correct recitation and understanding, and encourage their connection with the Holy Quran.

Ghanem passed through several qualifying rounds to reach the final, which saw outstanding participation from Jordanian university students. He ultimately won the title in a competition whose criteria focused on memorization, understanding meanings, and Tajweed (the rules of Quranic recitation), along with practical applications of Quranic performance.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Kilani, congratulated student Ghanem on this achievement, emphasizing that his victory is a result of the academic programs and study plans offered by the faculty to prepare and qualify its students scientifically and intellectually, enabling them to compete at the local, regional, and international levels.

Al-Kilani added that this was the first participation of the faculty's students in the competition, culminating in Ghanem winning first place. He called upon the faculty's students and all university students to emulate him and participate in events related to the Holy Quran, its recitation, and learning its vocabulary, saying, "There is no loser with the Quran, and no higher status than that of its memorizer."

It is worth mentioning that Al-Maher Quranic Society is a non-governmental organization concerned with serving the Holy Quran. It launches a series of competitions aimed at empowering students in various fields, including memorizing the entire Quran, memorizing vocabulary, theoretical and practical Tajweed, and preparing participants for major competitions, in addition to the "Little Al-Maher" competition aimed at children to develop their abilities in memorization and Tajweed.
