The College of Sharia and April Academy organize job readiness workshops to enhance students' preparedness for the labor market

The School of Shariah, in cooperation with the April Academy for Scientific Research and Statistical Analysis, organized a series of specialized workshops for the students of the School of Shariah within the Career Rehabilitation Program during the summer semester 2024/2025, with the aim of enhancing their skills and preparing them for the labor market. The workshops, which were held at the Jordanian University, focused on three main themes, namely: Preparing a professional resume, preparing for the labor market, interviews and freelancing, and the basics of using artificial intelligence to develop professional skills.

The workshops were attended by a group of certified trainers, namely Dr. Amr Al Matarneh, Head of the Department of Applied English at Princess Tharwa College, Academic Director at the April Academy for Scientific Research and Statistical Analysis.

Engineer Haneen Al-Yaseen – Architectural Engineering Trainer, expert in freelancing through online work platforms, and business development trainer.

Engineer Dima Alayan – Business development consultant for small and medium-sized enterprises, certified trainer with over 5 years of experience.​

They provided interactive sessions that included practical tips for drafting resumes that meet the requirements of employers, as well as effective strategies for success in job interviews. The workshops also addressed the concepts of freelancing, with a focus on how to use digital platforms to work through them.

The workshops highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence as a supportive tool in improving professional performance by developing skills that will enable students to keep pace with the rapid developments in the labor market.

Dr. Amr Al Matarneh, Academic Director at APRIL Academy, said: “Through these workshops, we seek to enable students of the College of Shari'ah to move confidently into the labor market, equipped with the skills and tools that qualify them to achieve professional excellence.” He pointed out that the program comes as part of the Academy's vision to support education and enhance youth capabilities, and its keenness to promote social responsibility by empowering youth and providing them with opportunities that contribute to building a sustainable and prosperous society.

More than 200 students attended the workshops, and the students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to gain practical skills that support their career aspirations.
