The Faculty of Shari'a was established in 1964 as an independent college. It was integrated into the University of Jordan in 1971.

The Faculty aims at serving the local community, the Arab and Islamic world, and the globe, through preparing qualified Islamic teachers, preachers and scholars who are capable of conveying the message of Islam in a professional and devoted manner
