A message from the dean of the faculty
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
We are proud that we are part of the great scientific and academic edifice, the University of Jordan; we are part and members of the faculty of Shari'ah which joined the university campus in 1971 as the fourth of its faculties. This flourished faculty is considered as a fountain of knowledge, and a source of peace, security and safety in the university. This is because of its main goals is the call to Allah by wisdom and good words and to serve Islam, its doctrine, interactions morals and behavior and to follow the straight Islamic path for the building of humanitarian societies on earth. The planting of Islamic values of justice, tolerance, moderation in thoughts and methods, condemnation of extremism and discrimination which destruct the social web in societies is our message. As the country of coexistence, peace and tolerance, Jordan is of the leading countries in carrying these noble values. This is confirmed and expressed in the principles of Amman Message.
Religion is not confined to soulless ritual practices; it is the life of souls, intellect, emotions and body. It balances between this life and the next life, reality and ideals, between the needs of the body and the soul. This bright picture of Islam is the message of this faculty and its students which gives our souls and minds hope and love. It makes us love knowledge and education. This message is the life of our souls and hearts. It is a call for the brotherhood of faith. This is in order of the carriers of the message of Islam to the humanity and the universe to have tender hearts and minds.
The Faculty of Shari'ah, with its qualified, loyal and sincere staff members of scholars are able to carry the noble message of Islam to the world. They can link the present with the past and the great civilization of Islam. They can develop good values and manners by following the straight Islamic path in their thoughts, sayings and deeds. This faculty provides religious institutes in Jordan with its graduates. This is to contribute in building individuals who have faith in Allah and His trustful messenger, who have sincere belonging and loyalty to their religion, country, and nation. This message will be rooted and watered by following the steps of the best ideal model for mankind Muhammad peace and prayers be upon him.
